St.
Luke’s Foundation announces a $100,000 matching grant to support
Whatcom Hospice Foundation’s Hospice House Community Capital Campaign.
The grant will be a 50 percent match.
Every two dollars donated to
the community campaign will be matched by one dollar from the St.
Luke’s Foundation.
The
goal of the combined campaign by the two foundations will be to raise
$300,000. Contributions should be sent and checks made out
to St. Luke’s Foundation Hospice House Fund, 800 E. Chestnut St.,
Bellingham, WA 98227. For additional information please call

“The
St. Luke’s Board is very excited about this project and looks forward
to partnering with the Whatcom Hospice Foundation in the preparation,
launch and success of the Hospice House Community Campaign,” said St.
Luke’s Foundation Board President, Dennis Williams.
“This
partnership will allow both foundations to work together to assure that
those facing the end of life receive excellent compassionate,
individualized care, surrounded by loved ones in a comfortable homelike
setting,” said Kirkland.
The
St. Luke’s Foundation was founded in 1982 with proceeds of the sale of
St. Luke’s Hospital. To-date, the independently governed
foundation has given more than $14 million to hundreds of health related
services and projects in Whatcom County.
Founded
in 1991, the Whatcom Hospice Foundation, also an independently governed
foundation, has given more than $6.5 million to support Whatcom Hospice.
